Bailys Vineyard And Winery
This Is A Family-Owned Estate Winery
The Bailys Vineyard and Winery is a family-owned estate winery located in Temecula, California. The Temecula Valley is a growing wine region in Southern California that features several exciting vineyards.
Bailys is very much a family business run by Phil and Carol Baily. They founded the winery in 1986.
The winery’s specialty is wines in the style of France’s Boudreaux region. All of the grapes used in the state of the art wine making facilities are grown on the Baily family’s own vineyards in the Temecula Valley. The Baily’s own four different vineyards in the Temecula area:
- The La Serena Vineyard features one and a half acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and two acres of Sauvignon Blanc grapes. La Serena wines have a very fruity aroma.
- The Los Amantes Vineyard features two acres of Chardonnay Grapes and two acres of Muscat Blanc Grapes. It is owned and operated by the Baily’s son Chris and his wife.
- The Berenda Vineyard is planted in Boudreaux varieties including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon.
- Mother’s Vineyard, the winery’s oldest growing area is planted exclusively in Reisling grapes.

Phil Baily produces a very interesting selection of wines including some unusual vintages not normally found in California.
Baily’s Red wines include:
- Sangiovese - made the premier grape of Tuscany. This is a very fruity wine with some nice spicy flavors. It goes well with meat, fowl, cheese and pasta.
- A Merlot that features a wonderful nose of strawberries, black cherries and vanilla.
It is aged for 24 months in European Oak barrels.
- A Cabernet Sauvignon that is aged in European oak for 30 months. It features 3% Cabernet Franc which gives it a very rich and silky feel.
- Cabernet Franc – A French style wine with rich berry aromas. Aged in European Oak for 24 months.
- Meritage – An interesting mixture of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot that is aged in French and American oak barrels for 35 months. A very elegant wine.
Baily’s also makes a wide range of other wines including some very interesting selections of note is the Riesling.
Rieslings are traditional German sparkling wines. The vineyard also makes a vintage port that goes well any desert.
Other white lines at Baily’s include Chardonnay, Semillon, and Montage.
A very interesting sets of older vintages are sold under the label of Baily’s library wines.
These include older examples of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Meritage and Cabernet Franc.
