The weather here is as diverse as any other city in the country. Afternoon ocean breezes blowing in from the west often cool summer temperatures that can average in the mid 80’s or the mid 90’s.
This is a complete change from our winter averages. Mild wintertime temperatures average in the mid 60’s.
The average yearly rainfall amounts in Temecula are approximately 14 inches, as compiled by our local water district.
The quality of air in the Temecula Valley is consistently better than that of surrounding communities. Ocean breezes help keep the air cleaner than most surrounding areas.
This in turn helps sweeping away any smog. In the summer, the Pacific winds help bring temperatures lower by about 10 degrees than in our neighboring towns.
From Hot To Cold

Temecula Valley weather is comparable to the Napa Valley, as evidenced by the Temecula Vineyards. Temecula California has warm, dry days and cool evenings in the summertime.
Temecula has some outstanding weather – most of the time.
Sometimes, it can get down right HOT!
And, we have experienced some very, very cold winters here too. It got so cold here in the winter of 2008 that we had snow on mountaintops behind the Redhawk area. I have pictures to prove it too (pictured above).
I remember it got into the high 20’s for about 2 to 5 days in a row.
For the most part it is very nice to live and play here. My kids love the pool, play soccer and hang out with their friends.
My wife and I love to sit out on the grass in front of the house and watch the kids on the block play into the evenings.
Temecula sure has diverse weather, but you get accustom to the good life!
